Welcome to Food Pulp
The world of food can often seem overwhelmingly confusing.
Who even knows what “all natural” really means?
Food Pulp is dedicated to providing factual food information for everyone.
WHAT WE OFFER
Food Pulp is an informative ethical lens of food and its science for you. This curated content will touch on topics such as the origin of modern foods and why some ingredients have long names in a different language. The viewpoints presented on this website are based on: common knowledge, available research prepared by reputable sources, and scientific consensus. We will also reference journal articles that you can contact Food Pulp or the author of the paper for, we will gladly try to send you a copy.
It is our hope that you will share Food Pulp with those around you to help prevent misinformation from becoming information. To inform others, we need to respectfully bridge information gaps instead of avoiding those who don’t share our perspectives. The food industry has generally chosen to keep us out of touch with its complex science at every stage of food production and Food Pulp will try to answer your questions and explain how foods safely make their way to you.
BELIEFS
Food Pulp fights for truth-seeking, sustainability, science, ethics, and equality. Our beliefs about our best agricultural and food production systems are and will be shaped by pro-science humanitarian environmentalist philosophies. We believe that:
we are currently overtaking Earth at an unsustainable rate that does not allow for ecological balance and preservation
we should be working towards eliminating hunger with an agricultural and food system that uses as little land and resources as possible
nutritious safe food should be available to all people regardless of their socioeconomic background
we need to educate everyone about science-based nutrition and basic food science to hinder fear and unethical marketing
Other than the present climate crisis, greed is an ideology that is globally harmful. I believe greed feeds into most conspiracy, infrastructure, and inequality problems that we face today especially in agriculture and food production. Even within a facade of good intentions, greed has promoted unfounded fear and misinformation using unethical marketing tactics such as Non-GMO. Food Pulp is my attempt to provide important information that is unfortunately missing from the food industry to help make us all feel more comfortable with our food.
SUPPORT
I am educated in food sciences, but I am not all-knowing and if you spot an error or would like to have a discourse, do contact me.
It has taken a long time to pull all these thoughts together to form Food Pulp. If you are like them and have a creative project that you are interested in starting, but need inspiration or would like to talk about taking first steps, write to me at info@foodpulp.com.
